Marine vet sets out on 300-mile journey to raise awareness about veteran suicide

Travis Snyder, a U.S. Marine veteran, plans to walk 22 miles a day across Michigan in recognition of the 22 veterans lost to suicide each day. In total, Snyder will walk 300 miles in an effort to raise awareness surrounding veteran suicide. Thank you for your efforts Travis for bringing more awareness to preventing veteran suicide. Every 48 minutes another veteran dies from suicide, of these suicides, 75-85% are Vietnam-Era Veterans. In the original VA study, back in 2011/12 only 21 states reported. CA, TX and FL did not report their suicides. That is why Team Veteran Foundation uses a more realistic 48 minutes which means 30 Veterans per day are dying by suicide.
