About time..
They need to review all past awards For Marines and Navy personnel attached with them and upgrade some. Marines have always been tight on awards even the CAR.

Traditionally it seems the Navy always is behind in the number of awards it presents. Now, we surely don't need to follow the Air Force's medal a day program. It seems the Navy has a limited amount of each awards they can present. In the squadrons I've been attached, it seemed that the PN, YN and other admin types received all the NAM's or NCM's. We're talking multiple gold stars, deployed sailors, first tour sailors rarely were recognized. As an E2, i was deployed into the open ocean to recover a piece of equipment worth $250,000 which the Lcdr pilot, safety officer skipped off a wave, usually causing it to sink. Saving the gear & and the R&D was priceless. I rec'd a nicely written letter.

You should have seen how Snipes are treated. We rarely even got a nice letter.
