I've been in some pretty heated meetings in my 28 years at fortune 500 companies. If I slung a word out like that (or a host of others) that would be the end of my career more thank likely not a 15 yard penalty. He got off pretty light. We need to look at professional athletes as employees of the teams and leagues they work for. Would their shenanigans pass muster in any other work place?
There are plenty of guys that play it right down the middle and keep their nose clean. I know tempers can flare but you have to be able to control yourself.

TSgt Frank Shirley I am not sure what your point is Frank. Owners hire the best players they can find on the market. The NFL has a very large percentage of blacks playing in it (far more than the 5 of the population) and there is nothing wrong with that. It would be hard to argue the NFL is not hiring the best possibly players and paying many of the handsomely for their efforts.

SGT (Join to see) Heat of Battle? What battle? They are being paid to play a kids game. No matter how you bastardize, change, or rationalize something it doesn't make it right. We have enough racial issues right now that this cannot be tolerated. Further there are players in the NFL who are sitting for the National Anthem because of inequality issues. This word, is so taboo that as a white man, if I say it, I am immediately branded a racist, regardless of context. It cannot have a double standard. If it is a racist dehumanizing word, then it is a racist dehumanizing word regardless of whether it comes from a white, black, brown, yellow, or any other color person. No excuses wrong is wrong.
