Mattis supportive of new combatant command for space operations

I watched Pence's full announcement and read the detailed report. I agree with three of the four aspects of this initiative. The one aspect i'm in full disagreement with is creating a 6th service branch that will require a large amount of resources.

MAJ James Woods - I totally agree. A waste of money--it will just mean resourcing a big HQ (which CCs don't have), probably out of current defense money, with no real payback, and Mattis is smart enough to know this. The actual functions are being done now, so it's ratcheting up the mission and giving it emphasis. Good article.
