What is the GOP afraid of? Let people testify so they can prove the bubblering about not guilty. Instead of showing money talks.

It's not Trump's job to prove his innocence. It's the House's job to prove his guilt. They dropped the ball because they wanted to rush the impeachment, and now it's biting them.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Do you even know what that means? Fairness in a trial is for the benefit of the accused, not the benefit of the prosecution.

The House process under Pelosi was unfair and incompetent. It is neither the Senate's fault nor Trump's fault that Democrats in the House botched the job as badly as they did. Now, Pelosi basically wants a do-over, and have the Senate do the work her underlings in the House failed to do.

Well, she's not going to get it. So she can either forward the articles of impeachment to the Senate and let them exercise their sole constitutional sole power of trying the impeachment without Pelosi having any influence at all, or she can continue to sit on them until she has to change her Depends. She's already waited long enough to reveal the complete lie they used to rush things, but if she continues to wait, she might lose the ability to forward them at all.

My mind is boggled at just how fundamentally stupid the Democrats have been throughout this process. When they have ammunition and a point, they bungle it. When they don't, they make stuff up, call it the truth, and get mad when called on their made-up bullshit. They take "principled stands" that directly contradict their principled stands when Clinton was under the gun in 1998 (ironically, had the GOP been successful in KO-ing Clinton, Al Gore would have almost certainly won in 2000). They say that they need to move swiftly, as Trump has "compromised national security" and the House MUST ACT, then sit on articles of impeachment for weeks and counting. They can't be bothered to wait for a court challenge to a subpoena (calling it obstruction of justice!), nor allow the minority to call witnesses in the House hearings, but piss and moan that the Senate won't give them their way.

There is SO MUCH real things out there to be critical towards Trump on. But by bungling all of that and expending their nuke on this fiasco, they have effectively turned themselves into clowns that flail about hating everything Trump does, rather than focusing on things they can truly affect. And their incompetence will have lasting consequences for them.

Impeachment is politically based, not criminally and the Democrats have proven that since the articles were introduced and in some ways for three years now.You would think a bunch of former lawyers could get this right. I would rather take a platoon of AMEDD officers to clear a house in Baghdad than trust these Democrats to get something done (not really).

Well said Brother Jerry and all of your points are so true. The Dems are also the worst group of non-truthful, so called people, on the face of the earth. They are not Democrats, but Devilcrats.
Glad to read your post before you and I are sensored .
