Response to Charlottesville race riot from McLean Bible Church in Virginia: “Genesis 1:27 makes clear that God has created all men and women in His image. Revelation 7 tells us that one day men and women from every nation, every tribe, every people, every language are going to gather around God's throne and give Him worship. What that means is that God in His Word definitively denounces every form of racism including any kind of white supremacy as antithetical to His Word, His design, His character and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we as the church of Jesus Christ definitively denounce and repudiate white supremacy and any form of racial ethnic hatred as evil and as schemes of the devil intended to bring suffering and division to our society, and we decry any form of racism in our own hearts along those lines. So may God give us grace in our country, and as the church in our country, to bring these texts to bear on how we think about all of these things.”

That does not look like Lon Solomon who is the senior pastor of McLean Bible Church Capt Dwayne Conyers He must be an assistant pastor. I looked through the five campuses trying to figure out who it was and he must be a junior pastor.
I known many people at McLean since the main campus is not far from where I live. I recognize many of the names who liked the Facebook post from MacLean and other churches in the area including from the men's fellowship I attend.
The Bible makes it clear that all humans are created equal.

Capt Dwayne Conyers
I was at McLean Bible Church for several years. I ran camera and did some assistant directing before moving to California. Lon is a great theologian.

FYSA Lon has stepped down as Senior Pastor, I believe he's still on staff, still doing the Holy Land tour, etc. just getting older and likely wanted to slow things down a bit... and agreed, he is indeed a great theologian and excellent pastor.
