After several requests for help from his ambushed unit were denied, Dakota Meyer took matters into his own hands, to try and save his trapped comrades in Afghanistan. His efforts earned him the Medal of Honor.

I remember this story COL Mikel J. Burroughs, truly deserving of the Medal of Honor. There is no doubt in my mind that our armed forces were, and still are the most formidable fighting forces in the world. Now, lets just hope Congress see fits to staff them and equip them better than they have in the past.

I remember this battle very well, we lost a lot of that day. Doc James Layton was from my home town and I knew his father.
