More and more service members are returning home, only to realize "home" isn't what they they thought it should be. I am currently training my dog to be a service dog for me and the special group of veterans that I work with.
There is just something about a dog that comforts, relaxes, and enables others to open up when they normally would not.

I love my dog, he is not a service dog. How do I research the process of getting a service dog?

I'm still learning too! Silver Paws Ranch in San Andreas, Ca is a great reference and starting point. It's non-profit run by a Veteran. Arthur "Guy" Sheble is amazing and works with veterans all over California, Nevada, Utah, and a few from Texas! ADA is a great place to start with the rules and regulations around service animals. I'll look up more stuff tomorrow at my training and post it here.
