Did NTC use Sheridans as the bad guy tanks? Been about 30 years, but that is my recollection.

You remember correctly, CPT Lawrence Cable.
Sheridans with fiberglass vizmods were used to simulate BMPs and T-72s in attacks by the 32nd Motorized Rifle Regiment. OPFOR dismounts got to ride into battle (and on recon patrols) inside genuine MT-LB armored personnel carriers that had been liberated from Soviet client states. The only other actual Soviet vehicles used outside the cantonment area were the BTR-60PBs that the MI detachment used as maintenance vehicles on those rare occasions a meatball needed fixing and couldn't be make it back to the MI motor pool under its own power.

Us BLUEFOR could seem to kill those thing even if we used an Atom bomb. I think it was rigged.

I sure do remember the M551 in a heavy drop, and how loud it was when it shot it's round.

SP5 Michael Barczykowski - All the heavy's I saw never had chutes fail, but in 1974 over White Sands NM, TOP's jeep cute failed.
All the water cans loaded in the back busted open, the shift stick bent down, even the steering wheel smashed to the floor boards.
TOP was just standing there cussing saying, now I got to hump the desert too. Sure glad the Riggers were still at Bragg, TOP would have killed them.
TOP had to hump the desert with us Ground Ponders for the whole 3 months. Lol

The one failure that I saw was at Bragg and wheels and other parts flew every where. I happened to be one of the medics covering that drop/jump from the ground.
