I've met him. When I was in the 509th Bomb Wing we had a dining in with Paul Tibbits as the guest speaker and Johnston accompanied him. He was the lead man for Tibbits, spoke primarily about the development of the bombs, then Tibbits covered the opdrations and delivery.
