I never thought about this, but seeing it makes the Duke even more interesting as a fixture in early westerns for me. I love westerns.

I was very amazed when I heard this story. Just the fact that Wyatt Earl lived that long considering back in the day life expectancy wasn't long especially for a man with his life style is just incredible.
Equally as amazing is his story and direct influence would inspire the man who would bring spaghetti western into our living rooms and become an American icon John "Duke" Wayne.

Thank you, very interesting. There were some actual cowboys who made it into the movies. Hoot Gibson comes to mind.
