Looking at stats:
NY (State): Deaths 1,695 per million (19+ million)
NJ (State): Deaths 1,807 per million (pop: 8+ million)
FL (State): Deaths 484 per million (pop: 21+ million) - where I now live
Sweden: Deaths 575 per million (pop: 10+ million)
US: Deaths 545 per million (pop: 331+ million)

So far, what the stats tell me is:
Sweden with no lock down has almost the same death rate as the US with various degrees of lockdown. And the states with the harshest lockdowns far exceed Sweden's and the US's rate overall.
