Great post, thanks for sharing! This is something I find not commonly known. A lot of people know about WWI, and some can even tell you something about it, but that's about It in a lot of cases. The majority definitely don't know about or understand the sheer brutality of WWI, and the types of wounds that for all intents largely hadn't been seen prior to the grinder of war WWI created. Even some of my history geek friends don't know much about the men without faces. It's very interesting to learn about the types of wounds soldiers sustains and the new types of medical procedures and technology invented to counter them.

Glad you liked it, Sergeant. I remember reading about these particular men a few years ago, I think in a book called the Horrors of War. It was written anonymously and put out either at the end of WWi or shortly thereafter.
