Miami Beach Police Detain Legal Open Carriers, Chill First Amendment

MSgt Cayle Harris That will be a costly false arrest for the city of Miami Beach. I would love to know what happens to the two under-trained officers? It begs the question what else are they under-trained on as far as Law goes? But, what is worse, what about the supervisors back at the station? How did they let that go on for two hours???

I'm with you, Cayle. I prefer not to open carry even though its legal in Montana and Arizona. It's still crap that they detained the guys for fishing while open carrying. 2 hours is definitely planned harassment in my book. I hope they sue the department.

I see the FL legislature trying to change the Law to exclude the piers, since you can drive directly to one without any backwoods hiking involved,. And then saying that, that was the original intent on passing that particular subsection. In the meantime, pay up Dade County.
