Lt Col John Christensen:
I am a retired soldier. Thank you beyond kindly for this/your post!
I am very interested, Sir, in the: 'military-blended-retirement-system-tips-new-calculator'.
I have a bookkeeper/friend who manages my money; however, I need to spend my money in a wiser fashion.
Best Regards to You, Lieutenant Colonel-

I hear you. My fear is that many military are not in the habit pattern of contributing to their retirement like their civilian counterparts are. Those in the bubble the article describes need to think long and hard about which way to go. I think the ability to walk away at less than 20 with some savings is a good deal for those coming in, but if you're in that bubble you really need to look at how much you can contribute monthly if you choose the new retirement plan.
