On a personal note this is the same VA Medical Center that I go to for doctor appointments. I'm really very disgusted to hear about this.

unfortunately, this is not an uncommon practice. at the West Haven CT VA, the chief of one of the services was caught using her staff and VA property, including heavy equipment, to to construction/renovations at her home. she was fired. hopefully she faced criminal charges too.
