There were people protesting the verdict because he is a Somali Muslim immigrant and the dead was a white woman. Shooting across and out your partner's window will always be a difficult shoot to justify.

Honestly, I blame the politicians who pushed him through without proper vetting or training for the sake of "diversity." I think the sentence is probably about right, if you compare it to other manslaughter sentences.
It won't make up for the loss to the family, but then nothing would.
