Thanks for letting us know that a Minot Air Force Base B-52 has been training with the Colombian Air Force SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. For one thing going from the cold early spring in North Dakota to Colombia must have been interesting for the pilots and crew. Since the equator runs through Columbia much of it is warmer that South Dakota.
The B-52 is a venerable old bomber. It reminds me of the redoubtable A-10 except that the B-52 has been around for much longer. One of my all time favorite movies is Dr. Strangelove from the early 1960s which also featured B-52 aircraft.

LTC Stephen Ford, it is Colombian, not Columbian. Also, Colombia is located on the Northern Hemisphere hence the seasons there are not the opposite as ours. Besides, their climate (Except for Bogota) is mainly hot as they are near the Equator.

Maj (Join to see) - thanks for correcting my misspelling of Colombia. I edited my response accordingly. Since the equator runs through Colombia section of it are included in both the northern and southern hemispheres.

Hi sir, yes, the southern third of the country is below the Equator but the weather remains pretty neutral throughout the country, which is hot. Bogotá is a city located close to 9,000ft ASL thus it is close to San Francisco weather which is chilled year round.

Maj (Join to see) - I was in Bogotá in October 1992. It was pretty warm there but the armed soldiers and checkpoints indicated there were issues with FARC and others.

CPT (Join to see) I agree, you can't beat joint power/coalition forces power from the Air.
