Sequestration is tough...that is never a popular topic and someone or something is getting cut. Personnel and personnel programs are the easiest target because they can show savings immediately. Most times they are measured with a micrometer, marked with a crayon, and cut with a chainsaw. We need some sequestration, I wholeheartedly agree...but it needs to be done smart. Now the cold hearted commander piece of this goes like this. Childcare is a privilege, not a right. It is ultimately the parents responsibility to ensure they have childcare just like any other parent out there...civilian or military. I understand the rigors of military life but most, not all, spouses work and want child care so they can live above their means. Most of the time they are working for child care costs anyway which negates the need for a job. However, to pull the rug out pretty quick as they have done here without a plan seems to be a foul. Cuts at the top are easy until you see actually how deep they really go.

That's because they're so important.....just ask them. In case you can't tell IMO there is nothing lower on the face of the earth than a Congressional Staffer.

Sgt Wayne Wood - Sometimes that's a tossup. When every other sentence out of their mouth is I'm on Senators/Congressman's XXs staff it's usually a good sign that they're worse than their boss.
