One thing struck me...
The passage: “I’m not sure why we continue to think that we’re going to solve issues of crime or violence in the state by encouraging more violence,” said Jean Hill, government liaison for the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City.
Defending yourself and having an effective means to do so is NOT encouraging more violence. Any violence that happens is on the criminals.

MSgt George Cater I honestly think that some of the people against gun ownership think that gun owners have a car full of guns, driving around looking for an excuse to use them, like the guy in the movie Highlander. It is simply not true. Sure there are a few who do that, it is a statistical probability based on the number of gun owners in America, but that would be the exception not the rule.
