I actually agree with the freedom of religion as something our nation has always valued and has been founded on. It would be hard for most of us to remember the inquisition or the crusades or the fleeing of many from Europe and England seeking simply to file their faith and practice without fear of interference by a government that has adopted social policy that contrast with their faith. The right to life, work, liberty and freedom from being told you are wrong in your belief is not American. If I don't want to rent my house to someone, I shouldn't have to. Period. It is mine. We told mormons they could practice polygyny. They complied for the most part. Why does government and civil authority have the right to say who I can say no to. Regardless of religion, I have a voice and rights. Turning religious speech and practice into hate speech and practice is wrong.
