I agree I have to think it's the false narative our country has played up where our people grew up in the illusion that we live in a safe world and that you can always trust the system to save you over being prepared yourself that's the kind of methodology we have ingrained into minds of your youth and even a good many my parents generation naively believe that.

PFC (Join to see) - Yeah its sad how many feel the government will save them in a Natural Disaster even......NOT!!! The first time I was unemployed I learned it was not government or any government program that saved me. It was me getting out and networking and other people that pitched in to to help that got me another job. All the job leads that government came up with were min wage jobs or otherwise worthless to me. Unemployment insurance payments, more hassle than the money they actually provide, IMO so I avoid claiming unemployment after my first experience. Takes too much time and produces very little to compensate for the time it takes.

SPC Erich Guenther - the government in my view is meant to do the big things solve the big crimes solve the big politics when it comes down to the small local crisis like this shooting there is very little a governing body can do within the confines of a democracy to stop it.

PFC (Join to see) - Yes and I would also say if Las Vegas had it's act together more security wise........this never would have happened. How dumb was it to have an open air concert among largely unsecure high rise hotel buildings #1. #2 How stupid of the hotel staff not to do daily inspections of the room. Tell me you can't smell CLR with that many weapons in the room. Lets say he carried them up all the same day? Who the pluck is watching the hotel Security Cameras? Epic fail all around for Las Vegas in the area of security if you ask me. The thing is that Luxury Hotels offer this idiotic "green" option where you choose how frequently housekeeping enters your room to change the sheets and towels. I think it is really, really gross and a red carpet invitation to bed bug infestation but they are offering that now. I am guessing the Mandalay Bay offered it as well and that is how the shooter kept hotel management out of his room for several days.

Yes I have much respect for him he has done great work in helping people understand the nuances of the the Second amendment and the thought processes and ideas behind it and those who excercise it in a very contemporary way not many people are able to articulate today as he has.
