Speaking as a cybersecurity professional for almost 30 years, I absolutely applaud this highly bi-partisan move by the house, to divest TikTok from Chinese ownership and control. I have noted as far back as 2015 that the app is Malware, it has functions that ware in no way necessary for the app to function through its stated purpose. The app is also controlled in a manner to make it highly addictive, feeding biased content to users to acclimate them for political purposes. It is a both a collection and propaganda tool for the Chinese.
So after the House votes for this with overwhelming numbers, I challenge Schumer (actually dare) to do the right thing and put it up for a vote in the Senate. He won't because this is in fact also a special interest area in which I am sure would hurt Schumer (and many Democrats) if they have the company divested and/or the app banned.
