The beauty of great satire is that it plays right into the mindset of those who think it's probably true anyway. Nicely done, Onion...
For more directly focused on military topics, http://www.duffelblog.com/ does a great job also.

The Fed Gov has absolutely no constitutional authority to be in the healthcare business, period. How did I and all my contemporaries ever survive the '50s with out big nanny Federal Government control? So if I have the "right" to healthcare, the "right" to the services of the medical community and the inevitable consequence of all that it entails, their expertise, their labor, their equipment, does that not equate to slavery? If not, how so? Do I have the right to housing? The right to the labor of all involved in the building industry? These late date invented "rights" present a claim on the property and resources of others, they enslave us all, slavery is the inherent end of all these supposed rights. Up with the Proletariat, down with the Bourgeois! The dictatorship of the Proletariat, right out of the Socialist/Marxist manual.

PO2 Anthony Pritchard- I agree, we have two issues. First is Constitutional and the second is a disease. The Fed Gov has a spending disease. We are seeing just how this disease effects States like Illinois, California, and Puerto Rico. With a 20T debt we are at a make or brake point. I think the Republicans should just push us over the cliff so we can rebuild government again. Its going to happen eventually. Why put it off.

Agreed. For myself I have no hope in Political Parties. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, I believe that the political party system is an evil, one that has been with us from the beginning, in my opinion of course, plus there is no mention of them in our Constitution. The vaunted 2 Party System, where there are only two viable Parties, our choices are limited, and which candidates are presented for election is more easily controlled. Which is why the successful campaign of Donald Trump was so amazing, and remains still, according to my lights anyway. The 2 Party system is the most divisive and effective political tool yet invented, and it is that divisiveness that is responsible for the vehement and violent displays that we witness today. I won't even start with the media of today. Just my layman's pitiful insight. [All errors of philosophy are the sole property of the author, and as such cannot be assumed without permission]
