National Hepatitis Awareness Month: May - Viral Hepatitis

May is National Hepatitis Awareness Month. All it takes is one blood test. If you do not have any type of Hepatitis, you are done after that blood test. If you catch it early enough all you have to do is a take a pill once a day. If you do not discover that you have any type of Hepatitis early enough you could develop liver cancer and potentially die from it. The Veteran community is susceptible to Hepatitis C. The Affordable Care Act requires insurance companies to cover the cost of the blood test. The VA has a page dedicated to this including some great information about Hepatitis C along with testing information.
