The social and cultural cleansing continues unabated even gaining strength. One can see how such statues are associated with such issues as slavery and succession and give the strong impression they actually approve/support of their basic actions. Here at the University of TX many of them have been moved to a special facility/exhibit etc where they can be viewed in an apolitical context. Not a bad idea. The statues can also be viewed as a tribute to individual warriors for exhibiting exceptional qualities in a no-win situation which history would never forgive. Esp the naming of military bases and streets etc is not entirely inappropriate even in this day and age of extreme PC.

They should worry more about world events then about the names of buildings and post, leave well enough alone.
