If you are in the Navy you need to look at your LaDR!!! I am an E-3 having just completed my A-School and in my C-School and for the first time really working with people who have been in the navy for longer than a year that are not my teachers. Something I am seeing is they have never heard of the LaDR. A quick break down of this is that it is designed to help you advance by telling you what positions and you should aim for and what jobs you need. It is Rate specific for each Navy rate ie, ET, FC, BM, GM... It explains everything from an E-1 to an E-9 and even explains what civilian jobs apply to what you are currently working on. It can be a valuable tool if used correctly but sadly many people still don't know about it and have never seen it.

SN William Perry. Since people are not aware of the LaDR, this is a prime opportunity for you to enlighten them in this program. By doing so, you can become an expert, and your supervisors will see (and recognize) that you are a team player.

Thank you sir! It had been pushed on me and many instructors talked about it while I was there so I had thought it was common knowledge. But in C-School people had not even seen or heard of it. I know it is not the only way to go or you have to follow it because I know there are many people who made it without it. But Looking at it can help anyone hoping to advance or even are looking to retire.
