I want to know what's going on... no more, "this is 'family' business'" crap. Are we relieving a crop of senior officers because there were serious deficiencies in how they were trained and developed, are societal changes suddenly rendering long-held "common" attributes "unacceptable"... or is there something more "sinister" going on? This is "my" generation of Naval officers; I've had people I knew well affected. I'm reasonably certain that were I still on active duty... much of what I would consider "appropriate" behavior for a commanding officer would be deemed "out of bounds" by some of our newer ideologies. I am concerned for my parent service, and would love for someone "in the know" to shed some light here.

My speculation is the administration is leaving its imprint on the services through a culling of incompatible ideologies. Much like what has been done by most democrat presidents.
It's that, or we have a group of senior officers who have no honor or regard for their rank and position.

Seems a lot of post commanders, Army and Navy, are being relieved due to a lack of confidence in them by subordinates. This is getting ridiculous.

Maj Kim Patterson I don't doubt that and as a grandparent of 2 beautiful granddaughters 18 and 23 and I would do everything possible to keep them out of the military if they indicated any interest.

SGT (Join to see) - Having multiple generations of military members in our family, the military was good for many of us, not so good for others. I have a brother-in-law that went UA during Army boot camp. The Army, instead of punishing him, just cancelled his contract and let him go home for good.
I get a lot of joy from talking to people about my 24 years in the Navy, but like I've said before, today's Navy is not like it has ever been in previous generations. It's now a political organization, with a warfighting mission.

CPO David R. D. Hate to break it to you but the Navy didn't change the moment you left. Its how you left it. Its how we all left our branches of Service.
