Navy OKs Automatic Promotion Program for Sailors Willing to Take Certain Jobs

Hmm. I mean, wishing it applied to say, LCDR to CDR......ok, kidding. I do recall hearing the previous SECNAV, the same one who eliminated our ratings, that one day you'd be promoted to whatever rank the billet required (ie. if a LT is doing a CAPT billet, the LT gets promoted to CAPT). Not saying this program is the same or even is trying to achieve the same objectives, just that promotion programs in the Navy can blow in the wind a bit.
