While I am not familiar with exactly what they did with her reactor compartment I did De-Activate the USS Mississippi which was a Nuclear Powered Cruiser. Technically all of the Primary Coolant system is considered low grade Nuclear waste. Now as a museum ship it would be ok for people to be in the "people" areas of the ship because they are shielded from the reactor compartment. If I were king for a day I would anchor her off of San Diego and use her to hold criminals awaiting deportation. With the prevailing currents if they did jump ship they would end up in Mexico anyways.

Interesting Story... But Once The Reactor Has Been Removed It should Present Little or No further Nuke Threat...

No, of course not. It's only a radioactive threat even when it's operating if something goes wrong. That said, I believe they've already removed the reactors, but if they haven't, they certainly would before making it a public museum. Those compartments would then either be closed off or decontaminated.
