Is SECNAV a SEAL? No? Then maybe, just maybe, he should listen to the inputs of the SEALS.

I am also not a SEAL and would NEVER presume to tell them how they should do their job!

I wonder what Kristin Beck, the transgendered man to woman and retired Senior Chief Navy SEAL, thinks?

For that matter, I wonder what CDR Richard "Dick" Marcinko thinks?

That's what I'm afraid of, that standards are going to be lowered. Standards that have withstood the test of time.

Well-We all knew it was coming, and like most everyone else who is not a SEAL, I think my opinion is pretty extraneous.

That said, I don't see how you're going to integrate any measurable ratio of females into this level of training and meet any politicians "benchmark for success" without lowering standards.

Like others listed here I am not and never have been a SEAL or Special Operations service member of any kind. With that said if any female service member can successfully pass all standards as they are currently set to enter into any Special Operations command I say they should be allowed to try. I do not believe many will want to try but the ones who do and can complete the training deserve the right to.
