Yet private entities may establish, and government mat establish reasonable limits, such as not yelling "fire" falsely in a crowded theater, or designating certain areas for free speech, or time and place permits for such. Rights are not absolute and are balanced with responsibilities. The market will determine whether or not disrespect of our anthem and flag continue, sadly, not moral conviction.

We are or have fought to defend their right to do that didn’t we? Or am I mistaken.

Yes, you are mistaken. Just as looking a gift horse in the mouth is not wise, it is also not wise to spite those who protect and defend your way of life. Taking advantage of those who you rely upon for support (pro athletes disrespecting the anthem and flag) has consequences. Economic pressure may in the end put a stop to this shameful display of UN-American behavior.

MAJ Montgomery Granger - So under the constitution we allowed slavery, we allowed exception to voting leaving women out, under the same constitution we allowed the exception of black people from voting. All of these rights were changed by people not willing to sit back saying it's disrespectful and un-American. They had to fight for change because of closed minded people with little regard for there brother/sisters.
Again, were you not willing to sacrifice your life to make sure they have the right to do so? Or is there something I missed that says we fight to pick and choose what rights we are defending?

If everyone is so mad about kneeling why is no one mad at the person(who is/was miltary) who suggested they kneel in the first place? If kneeling was do disrespectful you would think that this misplaced anger would be more toward the person who suggested it since he was military. So what are folks really mad at?

You want to punish Nate Boyer for trying to mitigate Colin Kaepernick's misplaced anger? Go right ahead. It was a stupid compromise in my opinion. But the bigger picture is disrespect of our flag and anthem. According to US code it is illegal to do anything but stand respectfully with hand over heart, but the law established no penalty. The People have established a penalty instead, and it's called finding something else to do on game day.

MAJ Montgomery Granger I'm not trying to punish anyone. They came to a compromise. And what misplaced anger are we talking about? As far as finding something else to do on Sunday's, that a choice...like one of the many people make everyday which is a right everyone is allowed the freedom to make whether we like that choice or not.
