Or to me. I believe that in an all-volunteer military service members become disenchanted with the military way of life and think that they can just walk away like they're quitting a job. Take for instance the soldier at Fort Hood. He was listed as AWOL but people were putting up missing posters as if he were the victim of a crime. In fact, he was in Louisiana being chased at high speeds by the Sheriff's Department for a traffic violation and ultimately taken into custody for felony evading. He still sits in their jail. He's AWOL.
