U.S. Marines Capt. Kamil Szmyglewski experienced a laceration to the eye while stationed in Florida. Recently, a surgeon in New Bern, North Carolina performed the state's first iris transplant which helped save the Capt.'s vision. I'm so grateful that Capt. Szmyglewski, a true patriot, had access to this type of surgery and for the careful hands of the surgeon who provided such life-changing care!
