I was surprised to learn that only the Army doesn't allow nail polish. And the reason why the Army was against it is because they had problems enforcing the regs. Really? Apparently the other services don't have problems enforcing their uniform regs.
As far as the beards and other items. Times change and the military needs occasionally take a look at itself and determine if the uniform regs can be modified and why. I see no problem with beards. If the services clearly establish the regs and enforce them uniformly, then it should be a no brainer.

As leaders, we have to adapt. The Army and the world are continuously changing. If that change leads to beards, nail polish and earrings, so be it...be a leader and ADAPT. All of this can be done while maintaining proper order and discipline. Maybe the exception to this is in deployed environments, beards are prohibited due to the possibility of interfering with the proper fit of a mask. its going to be researched and tested....So until then, sit back and wait.
