They've accepted the 6.5 now. I don't know when they will put it in service. The 5.56mm will not end for the majority of the military. The average troop doesn't need anything else and there are tons of M-4/16s in service that have lots of life left in them.

It's a good round but I just don't agree with the services having different calibers it just doesnt seem like a good idea
