LTC David Brown I'm not a liberal but I do have to change how I get my mail in ballot for the first time in over 20 years in a Republican state because of big lie changes to the laws.

Alt Left Winger B/S. I disagree with reduction of polling places, but support banning people from giving out Food and Drinks to voters in line. There should be no one interacting with voters in line to vote.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - I live in an area where darker skinned people out number whites, majority of elected officials are dark skinned. Much easier to vote now than 10 years ago.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - I would say for everyone voting. I remember getting off work about 4pm or so and stood in line to vote in the rain until after 8 pm on a cold Nov afternoon evening. The poling station manager came and closed the line at 7 pm. If you were in line you got to vote if not, you were out of luck. So much easier now. In the run off election last year early voting was at the civic center for Richmond county. There was supposed to be bad weather and with covid I didn’t want to miss voting. My wife I drove down to the civic center, we voted and were done in less than a 1/2 hour.

LTC David Brown - Good for you. And I suppose you are under the impression everyone's experience is just like yours. I have no doubt you would say that. Of course you would say that. Obviously the world revolves around you, so naturally everyone's experience must be identical to yours.

A History of Voter Suppression
Sep 23, 2020

VOTER SUPPRESSION IS AN UNFORTUNATE BUT CONSISTENT FEATURE OF THE U.S. POLITICAL SYSTEM. LIMITATIONS ON THE RIGHT TO VOTE WERE CODIFIED IN THE JUNE 2013 CASE OF SHELBY COUNTY V. HOLDER, IN WHICH THE U.S. SUPREME COURT GUTTED THE 1965 VOTING RIGHTS ACT. THIS DECISION NO LONGER REQUIRED STATES AND LOCALITIES WITH A HISTORY OF SUPPRESSING VOTING RIGHTS TO SUBMIT CHANGES IN THEIR ELECTION LAWS TO THE U.S. JUSTICE DEPARTMENT FOR REVIEW. SINCE THIS RULING, 25 STATES CREATED NEW OBSTACLES TO VOTE.

Voter suppression has haunted America since it was founded

Ever since the Constitution was written, some of the nation's leaders have sought to deny the vote to those who might wrest their power away.

The racist history of voter suppression laws
on September 16, 2021 in Civic Engagement

According to the Brennan Center, half of the states with the highest Latino population growth passed voter suppression laws in 2016. Five years later, Texas has become the latest state to sign into law extensive restrictions that limit how and when voters can cast their ballot.

The House has passed two bills to ensure free and fair elections. The Freedom to Vote Act (S. 2747) would create national standards for access to the ballot box, make Election Day a holiday, and ensure that every state offers same-day voter registration at all polling locations by 2024 (and at a limited number by 2022).

The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4) would reverse dangerous, undemocratic trends flowing from recent Supreme Court rulings.

2021 was awful for voter suppression, but 2022 may not be better
Nineteen states approved new restrictions on voting in 2021. Unless Senate Democrats intervene, things are likely to get worse in 2022.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - Steve

Here you go again demanding sources for things that are known to be facts by most intelligent people. I've been to that rodeo with you before and despite your claims that I'm posting bullshit, I provided multiple sources to expose your fraudulent claims.
