New York Dems block bill to make water attacks on cops a felony

There are classes of felonies, and a simple water assault would probably be a Class D (the lowest in most states). Remember...a felony can always be busted down. It's much harder to justify bumping a misdemeanor up. I had several beers thrown on me, plastic cup and all, at a MLB game while I and other off-duty police were trying to break up a large and quite nasty brawl amongst two opposing team groups in the crowd. The two principal culprits who assaulted me first got beaten handily by MY fans, then were arrested on felony assault charges. They stuck, too.
