Nerve agents like sarin have a relatively short shelf life, usually no longer than five years. That means that this year or next year are ideal times to deploy any chemical weapons that were produced and hidden in 2013. The plan crafted by John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov back in September of 2013 required Syria to provide a full declaration of its stockpile “within a week” and provide the OPCW and the UN access to all chemical weapons sites in Syria. More than likely any viable sarin or VX material in the production facilities was weaponized and moved elsewhere to avoid detection. There are "rumors" that some of which have made their way into the hands of Iran's backed Hezbollah. As well with the previous issue of Syria having a clandestine nuke facility - not so sure leaving Russian in charge was a bright idea. I'm betting Russia, Iran, North Korea and Syrian all know that Assad still has WMD's.

Does not sound like Sec Tillerson's trip is going to make a lot of headway.....at least he can deliver the Administration 's message....

The problem is that there seems to be more than one message and the do not necessarily agree with each other.
