How many of us are making a vigorous attempt to protect ourselves? There is a clear parallel between computer and human viruses. Just vaccinating yourself while your community goes unprotected doesn't do much to protect you. The same is true with computer viruses and malware. All the firewalls and anti-virus/anti-malware programs will fail if every other computer in the world is hosting attacks, especially when you have to open your firewalls to allow customers in to transact business with you.
