In my opinion, this is one of the biggest pitfalls in the VA healthcare system. The one that makes it near impossible to get rid of substandard, incompetent, or unruly employees.

SGT Michael Thorin Couldn't agree more. My last visit was to be evaluated to see if I qualified for compensation from a jeep accident. The Dr was rude, and pushy. He did a bunch of tests and I failed some of them. I thought it was pretty clear that I had a problem from the accident. It was only one day later that this not so friendly Dr sent me a letter saying my compensation would be denied. He had to have had it written up before I even left the building. His reasoning was that my three back surgeries were just because of the aging process. Really???
