I remember this day. He sure made some mistakes. Makes a person wonder if this happened today would he have done the same thing. Some how I dont think so.

When a Democratic deletes tens of thousands of official emails it's careless, when a Republican deletes a few minutes of a tape recording, both parties are ready to start impeachment proceedings which resulted in the resignation of a president.

Thanks for reminding us PO2 Mark Saffell that on this day in 1974 President Richard Millhouse Nixon took the honorable path of resigning as POTUS instead of going through the process of being impeached by the US House of Representatives.
He thought of the good of the nation and demonstrated that he valued that more than the personal honor of the Presidency.
A generation later another President went through the impeachment process and now is the only living impeached former President. He placed more value in his office than in the honor of this nation.

LTC Stephen F. Im afraid I will make all the liberals head spin but to me a Presidents responsibility is to do things that help keep Americans safe. Sure there are things that happen but as a general rule he should have policies that are designed to keep us safe and when a President doesn't do that job I feel he hasn't lived up to his oath of office. Now is that considered High Crimes and Misdemeanors? Who knows, I'm sure many will have different opinions about that. BUT that being said our current President hasn't lived up to his oath of office, as a matter of fact he has done things that endanger American lives on purpose and then lied about it, for example paying ransom to Iran.
