I find it odd that we have this and another poster on RP talking about how Soldiers are wrongfully charged.

That's why I said if he did do it. I wasn't there so I don't know if he did. But if he did and this is the result, that is horrible.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - It is hard to say. In either case the LTC is now done with his military career.

That's the sad thing. If he didn't do it, it still ruined his career.

That's a mighty big load of "ifs".

You hinge everything on these "ifs". You don't know "if" it happened or not. "If" this officer really did assault subordinate soldiers, and wasn't charged..."

Whether we believe this or not, the reality of the judicial system, civilian or military, is that not every case is clear cut from a number of angles and the judicial system is set up such that the burden of proof if placed upon the government's shoulders under strict laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures.

It is a fact that not everybody who is charged with a crime is actually guilty of having committed the crime.

It is a fact that not everybody who is actually guilty of having committed a crime gets charged, or if charged, convicted of it.

It is a fact that not every crime is necessarily clear cut in evidence or guilt.

If you "lose faith" in the "Military Justice system", then your faith was misplaced in the first place...because these things above? They happen. They happen in every judicial system, no matter how corrupt or how idealistic they may be. They happen due to honest endeavors, they happen due to corrupt individuals.

The deal with sexual assault is unique among other forms of assault. It carries with it a baggage no other does. To be accused is to be indelibly stained, even when tried in court and declared "not guilty". As such it requires even more diligence.

Let the process work. If it's proven people are covering things up...then work to hammer them as well. Through the system.

Did you consider that he may not have committed an offense?

Yes I did Capt Gregory Prickett...that's why I said if he did do it. I wasn't there so I don't know if he did. But if he did and this is the result, that is horrible.
