Humm? Very subverted overtones.

Let me tell you what history says about making a fascist leader. First you declare that you are going to socialize the country. Then you declare that that the people with the money are evil. Then raise up one group of people and declare that they have been held down and that all others need to bow to their will because of the great suffrage they have endured. Then through executive power start undermining the elected government. Now it is time to make the military weak. Make sure and replace those competent and effective leaders with those that support you even if it is not what is best for the nation. Most important, take away guns from the common man, in the name of national safety. Once those are done then you can "Make the movement".

How 'bout those overtones?

What is the fundamental character of a tyrant? Any tyrant; dictator, satrap, whatever? Fundamentally, tyrants believe that they are the ones best suited to decide everything. Of course, no one person can delve into the minutiae of everybody's life. That takes a bureaucracy. And there you have the premise of the Progressive Movement. Are they Nazis? No... not yet. Give 'em time and power. They'll get around to it.

Another thread here at RallyPoint had this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdS6fyUIklI

If We The People want to keep a Republic and not follow every other government on the face of the earth over all history, then We The People need to be educated and involved. It starts with you, your families then your friends. It HAS TO BE done at the grass roots as no one in government will EVER agree to do it for you.
