Urban sprawl is a big issue. I also posted an article about feral parrots; we impact populations by letting other non native species loose...interesting that we now have a species of parrots that isn't native to the US but is endangered in its native habitat.

So true. The ones I hate are the starlings and English sparrows, neither of which belong here, and which displace dozens of millions of our native small birds such as gold finches, bluebirds, cardinals, etc.

I find that a singularly troubling statistic, rather akin to the honeybee population decline...the use of weather radar for bird biomass signatures was also quite innovative...anybody that questions climate change should look at such a study as this one, and the whole honeybee thing before denying the implications of humans on ecology as well as meterology, just a thought, at any rate, guys....
