This is straight bullshit. It comes as an oddity that we completely change American military standards because it bends to a culture or a single group of people. The American military is the top of the food chain because of the top notch comformity standards. The ability to be an Army of a unified standard allows us to operate equally between all American forces.
Final thought. I also find it repulsive that we make quarters and bend a standard for a culture/religion that we have been at war with for the last 14 years. To me this is a slap in the face to every military man/woman. I am disgusted at this as an American military serviceman.

Exactly, After my RA hitch I spent 28 years in the Vermont State Police and we were total UNIFORM with regulations to enforce it!

As a Norwich alum, I like the idea that religion is taken into consideration. My concern, however, is when her cadre goes to do maneuvers in the field, what is she going to wear? Does her kevlar qualify as acceptable religious head gear? And, having read the article, I think perhaps she and her family are more about making a statement than anything else since they are currently considering a lawsuit against the Citadel. This makes me doubt her personal commitment to bettering herself.

Attended Norwich also and I think you are right on considering the Citadel Suit. Norwich was the next "test" and they failed in the interest of diversity and political correctness.

Being a NU alum, I do not agree with Schneider's decision for a religious headgear exemption. A uniform is a uniform. Exemptions should not be made because you feel like being a special snowflake. From what I can tell on campus, the student body is split on this decision as well.
