I'd tried for this yrs ago before going army ROTC then USAF OTS, I couldn't get it, a friend did, then changed his mind, I hadn't seen it mentioned on here before....

Many thanks, a friend, as I'd mentioned, did actually get in under Adm Rickover, albeit some 30 yrs ago, for whatever reason, he just decided it wasn't for him...I'd wanted it really badly, at one point, I'd had what is thought was adequate background, before my now total perm disability, I just couldn't convince anyone to let me try for the program, though, I realized on reflection why my friend would've impressed Adm Rickover sufficiently to have allowed him a chance, I never could figure why he didn't want it, actually...
