Not great news but it almost had to happen. Many live in tight quarters on ships, in barracks etc. The good news is most are in very low risk categories. They are mostly younger, should be in good physical condition and should not have other diseases that might make them more susceptible to a severe illness or death.

How many are very ill? Is this diagnosis from symptoms or testing?

So far more than 1,435 service members are confirmed, up from 569 a week ago and 978 on Friday. I believe the diagnosis is based soley on actual testing.
