Fantastic Article. What I thought was amazing was when they deployed to Iraq mid cycle for OIF II/III and the unit they deployed with from Louisiana had last seen a battle field with the 69th while they were killing each other in the Civil War. It is those historic events, that in somes cases pre-date the U.S. Army that really make being in the National Guard something special. Thank for posting that.
