TSgt Joe C. wow, I remember that, it was a Friday night and I was stationed at Fort Drum, New York watching the NBA playoffs. My goodness, I will never forget this one.

Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on June 17, 1994 Orenthal James “O.J.” Simpson led the Los Angeles police on the slowest police chase which kept viewers glued to the station. Although he was not convicted because of the Dream Team lawyers he hired, thankfully “O.J.” Simpson is in prison for other crimes.

I was aboard the U.S. Wasp returning to M.C.A.S. New River from the Haitian intervention when the story 1st erupted with that freeway chase. I was able to see some of the chase from the TV's aboard ship but reception was terrible. We were unpacked and stateside by the time the story had unfurled with all of the pre-trial jousting back and forth. The court of public opinion impacted the trial more than it should.
